Stroll along the magnificent beaches of Hong Kong

If the phrase 'fragrant harbor' renders the mind's eye with a picturesque landscape of anchored ships, a deep blue sea and the wind whistling through trees and sails, Hong Kong, the Cantonese translation of 'fragrant harbor' will not disappoint. The coastline of Hong Kong winds on with natural nooks turning into ideal swimming coves harbors and bays. With the scorching sun in the sky, a holiday tan is what most visitors to Hong Kong will want to sport back at home and the country's 200 plus islands provide an astounding array of beaches to choose from.

The Lantau Island is resplendent with the Upper and Lower Cheung Sha beaches and the relaxing Silvermine Bay. The stretch of beach sports quaint little eateries, lifeguard services and spectacular views. Not to be outdone the incongruously named 'Repulse Bay' does anything but repulse, nestled in the shade of mountains and peppered with dining and shopping choices, water sports and friendly locals. Catch a dose of history and tradition while sunbathing at Repulse Bay, by crossing the 'longevity bridge' which is believed to increase one's life span. An effigy of the Goddess of Mercy, 'Kwun Yam' is another fascinating stop.

At a healthy distance away from Hong Kong Island, Sai Kung Beach maintains its reputation for clean waters. Although slightly more difficult to reach, due to its location in the New Territories, the beach is still a popular destination. Hung Shing Yeh Beach is famous for its powder like sandy beaches while the 'Italian Beach' or Po Yue Wan, hidden away on the Southwest part of the Cheung Chau Island is the ideal beach for those looking for a more peaceful atmosphere.

The Golden Beach is a must see, being Hong Kong's inaugural artificial beach. Enjoy a trip to the mall and knock back some refreshments after a swim, or rope some of the ever obliging locals into playing a game on the volleyball court.

Visitors seeking the ideal boutique hotel Hong Kong will have to look no further than Hotel Jen. The modern luxury it offers is superlative and its exclusive location is the perfect starting point for exploring Hong Kong's many attractions. The Hotel Jen is the epitome of comfort and a recommended choice for a hotel in Hong Kong.
