Patong - perfect for beaches and nightlife

Patong is a popular choice of resort on the lovely island of Phuket. Besides the idyllic beach with soft, white sand and gently swaying palms, there is plenty of good nightlife to be had in its many bars and restaurants. Patong has some lovely romantic beachfront bars where you can sip delicious, fruity cocktails in the shade.
Phuket is famed the world over for its beaches, and a holiday here really is the ultimate, relaxing beach getaway. It is a place where you really can be deliciously lazy, and let the cares of work just slide away. As well as the clean beaches with their powdery sand, the sea is blue and crystal clear, and if you care to swim in it, you will also find that it is delightfully warm.
As well as a perfect beach and wonderful nightlife, there are fascinating temples to visit, and magnificent towering Buddhas. You can also find busy and colourful markets, where there are simply the most amazing bargains on summer clothing, silks, watches, arts and crafts, fruit and vegetables.
Thai food is wonderful, and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Try Thai green curry, some of the wonderful coconut dishes, and the many different types of rice dishes.
A recommended hotel in Patong is The Patong Merlin which is just across the road from the beach, and a few minutes walk into the resort centre. The hotel has plenty of excellent facilities, including a sumptuous new spa, where a massage will soothe all the cares away. The hotel has three pools for you to swim and float in. The rooms are furnished to a high standard, and the main restaurant offers gorgeous views out to sea.
For ideal beaches and fun places to go out in the evening, Patong is the right choice.
