Nusa Dua - a taste of Balinese luxury
By | December 23, 2007

Nusa Dua is a beautiful, luxurious, purpose-built resort offering gorgeous white sandy beaches, and excellent hotels, many of which are five star, with complexes full of great facilities. The resort is clean and modern, having opened for business in 1986.
The name Nusa Dua actually refers to the entire peninsula at the southern tip of Bali, but now it has also come to mean specifially the tourist resort at the southeast side of this peninsula.
The resort has been carefully planned and has some features that set it apart from the rest of Bali, for example, the water in Nusa Dua can safely be drunk straight from the tap, and the electricity supply is constant.
The Nusa Dua Beach Hotel is architecturally one of the most impressive hotels in the region, and is especially popular with honeymooners. The spa at the hotel is highly rated, and here you can enjoy the delights of flower baths, massages with Balinese creams, a jacuzzi and sauna.
The food at this hotel is reported as being exceptional, in particular the breakfast buffet which offers breakfast to suit every taste and culture, ranging from European to Japanese, and also offering Halal food. The hotel itself is decorated with Balinese artwork and beautiful wooden carvings.
Also recommended is the Grand Hyatt Bali, which has six swimming pools, a sports centre and a spa. The complex is quite large, with the landscaping and architecture of the buildings beautifully executed in Balinese style. There is a spa and healthclub which offers full day pampering sessions in elegant surroundings.
Not surprisingly, the resort offers some very good seafood, including lobster, prawns, crab, and a variety of fish.
One of the resort’s greatest beaches is known as “Dreamland”, and it is not only a beautiful beach, but also offers great surfing, particularly for those at the intermediate level.
There are plenty of glass boats doing tours from Nusa Dua, offering magnificent underwater views. You can visit the Turtle Island known locally as Pulau Penyu where turtle eggs are kept in traditional conservation houses until the baby turtles hatch out.
Nusa Dua is a modern up-market resort, which offers the unbeatable combination of great beaches and top hotels.
