If you are looking for relaxing beaches that are not far away from sophisticated nightlife, then you need look no further than Monte Carlo, where you can swim and sunbathe by day, and enjoy the casinos at night. Monte Carlo is in the little French principality of Monaco, and is renowned as a home and holiday location for the rich and famous.

Between Monte Carlo and Cap d’Ail there are numerous little coves and inlets where you can find a quiet place to spend the day by the sea. Monte Carlo has everything you might possibly need from a chic town – elegant cafes, bars, fashionable shops selling designer clothes, and places to sit out with a beer or a coffee and watch the world go by. And yet, within only ten or fifteen minutes walk away, you can be on little coastal paths by the sea, where you will barely meet another person.

Monte Carlo has a busy harbour and marina, packed out with yachts large and small, and their well-to-do owners and passengers, coming and going. Monte Carlo has an interesting selection of museums, encompassing cars, animated dolls, and other intriguing items. It even has a Japanese garden, which cerainly looks eye-catching against the unexpected backdrop of the blue Mediterranean.

The nearest airport to Monte Carlo is Nice Airport, which is about forty minutes bus ride away. Alternatively, you can get night trains to Monte Carlo from Paris.

If you feel like taking a look at Northern Italy while you are in the area, then it is only a few miles to the border.

With an engaging variety of things to see and do, great beaches, and some interesting day trips to places nearby, Monte Carlo has lots to offer the holidaymaker in search of a good beach holiday.
