Olu Deniz is a small, relatively quiet resort on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, with plenty of friendly cafes, bars and restaurants along its promenade. Olu Deniz not only has a wonderful sweep of fine sandy beach, but also a shallow lagoon, which is great for swimming and paddling if you don’t fancy going in the sea, and is also especially safe for children. The area around the lagoon is a nature reserve, and the whole lagoon area is a very restful place to be.

The beach at Olu Deniz is an official Blue Flag Beach, and is considered to be world class, receiving good reviews year upon year. Despite the superb beach, the resort is neither overcrowded nor noisy, and it is very relaxing to walk around its pedestrianized streets, sit in its quiet cafes, bask on the restful beach, and swim in the beautiful blue sea.

Above Olu Deniz are the Baba Dag Mountains, and it is from these that you can go paragliding. In the summertime, whenever you look up into the beautiful blue sky, you can usually see one or two paragliders up there, circling around.

Scuba diving is also a popular sport around Olu Deniz.

There are a number of shops selling everything you might need for the beach, at very reasonable prices, from swimwear to colorful beach towels, from sun block to snorkels.

One of the popular trips that is available locally, is a day cruise around the coast visiting its interesting inlets and islands.

Olu Deniz has a fair number of highly rated hotels, and major tour operators do very reasonably priced package deals to this part of Turkey.
